Georgia Tech clutch moment in Game 5

The Grand LAN Finals are complete, and the second year of Alienware Collegiate Clash has officially wrapped. This year's Clash brought together the best collegiate esports teams in North America, set a new bar for scale, production, and student engagement, and delivered the kind of competition that reminds you exactly why this program exists. With over $30,000 worth of Alienware and Blacklyte gaming products on the line, the stakes matched the moment.

Georgia Tech raising the Alienware Collegiate Clash 2026 Trophy

Georgia Tech arrived in final form and were crowned the 2026 Collegiate Clash champions, taking home the Trophy, individual medals, new Alienware 16 Area-51 gaming laptops featuring Intel's Arrow Lake Refresh processors and anti-glare OLED displays, along with custom Alienware esports jerseys.

Winthrop battled all the way through the loser’s bracket to Game 5 in the Winners Finals, coming back from being down 2-0 in the series before falling short to Georgia Tech in a nail-biting series. Reaching the final stage in a field this deep is a genuine achievement, and they earned Alienware Pro Series headsets, Blacklyte gaming chairs, and custom Alienware esports jerseys to show for it.

Winning moment for Georgia Tech

The Student Experience Is the Win

Winning matters, but what I’ll remember most are the conversations:

  • Students discovering viable career paths in esports, technology, and creative industries; roles rarely represented on campus historically.
  • Teams proving that competitive play builds leadership, resilience, and collaboration, with growth that extends far beyond the game.
  • Faculty and staff recognizing esports as a meaningful pillar of campus culture; one that drives engagement, community, and real‑world skill development.

These moments validate effort, unlock confidence, and create momentum students will carry forward into their future endeavors. That’s exactly why we do it. Alienware exists to empower gamers at every level, and the Collegiate Clash reinforces why we do what we do: to fuel ambition, unlock potential and support our communities pushing gaming forward.

The talent on display at UT’s hosted Finals will shape the next wave of competitive gaming, content creation and technology innovation, and of course the 2027 Alienware Collegiate Clash event. For some students, this was their final year of competing before graduating, and for others, it was a taste of what’s possible to come back stronger next year.

"Hosting the Alienware Collegiate Clash LAN Finals is exactly the kind of moment we built the Alienware Longhorn Esports Arena for," said James Buckley, Director of Facilities and Operations for University Unions at UT. "Seeing students fly in from across the country compete at this level on our campus validates everything we envisioned when we opened these doors in 2023. This is collegiate esports at its best, and we couldn't be prouder to have been part of it.”

Special shoutout to our broadcast talent, streamers, and staff for an incredible event

To the students and teams who participated and the UT community for hosting such an unforgettable event, Thank You, and to our partners – NetEase, Intel, Team Liquid, Oversight Esports, and Blacklyte - who have worked diligently to ensure this went off without a hitch.

We were excited to see Marvel Rivals at the center of this year’s Collegiate Clash,” says Marvel Rivals Team at NetEase. “Partnering with Alienware to bring the game into campus arenas gave student players a real chance to stand out and showcase their skills. Seeing new talent step up in this environment is what makes the tournament so rewarding for us, and we look forward to continue building on this success.

Looking Ahead

We’re excited to catapult off this momentum and go even further next year. If your university team thinks it has what it takes, stay tuned for more details to come.
